VBT Hooked Discs are the latest disc face design by AP Racing. Vagbremtechnic adapted the initial design onto OEM discs for the following reasons.

1.They give improved bite
2. For high temperature track day use they give better debris clearance and reduces distortion vibration.

For road use we decided to opt for the version where the outer grooves do not run out to outside diameter but stay within the confines of the disc face. For road applications they also generate less noise than straight or curved groove discs and don't suffer the fatigue cracking that drilled disc users can experience after many heat cycles.

So win win for VBT Hooked, Vagbremtechnic also take a non handed OEM casting and LeftRight the VBT Hooked pattern to ensure temperature stability and an appropriately designed disc face for either the nearside or offside of the car to give a good gas path despite not using a handed casting. We've seen some real success on a budget with these discs especially when used with a four piston caliper upgrade.

Where they really come into their own though is when they're combined with a more capable set of brake pads - this is a real track day enabler and we find customers finding other weaker areas of their car such as tyres and suspension now that their car stops reliably again and again. VBT Hooked is the homologated disc face for BTCC and has been for three years.

Ferodo DS2500 Brakes Pads

DS2500 (H)
• Track day & light race use for all vehicle types
• Road style refinement but with race material
ability to withstand heat with respect to life and µ
• Average friction coefficient of 0.42 over working
temperature range of 20°-500°C

Precision Engineering
All of the pad back-plates are manufactured from high tensile steel meaning minimum distortion
when subjected to the high clamping forces common in motorsport use.
Pads are manufactured to maintain high tolerances on the pad and back-plate dimensions including :
flatness , parallelism and overall thickness.
This results in a rapid and uniform transmission of pressure from the brake system to the pads.

Thermal Under-layer
Unlike many competitive products all Ferodo Racing brake pads incorporate a thermal under-layer
between the backing-plate and the friction material.
This reduces the brake caliper’s operating temperature by up to 80 deg C and significantly reduces
the risk of boiling the brake fluid which causes a “spongy” feeling in the pedal.

Disc Friendly
Unlike many competitive products Ferodo pads are kind on brake discs.
Ferodo pads are developed to optimize both the pad and disc life. Our philosophy is not to increase
pad life with the casualty of excessive disc wear.

High Controllability
All Ferodo Racing brake pads are engineered to perform with a relatively constant coefficient of friction
(mu) across a wide range of temperatures , pressures and vehicle speeds.
This results in a consistent brake feel for the driver meaning that the braking torque is a linear response
to pedal pressure.

Wheel Fitment:

Whilst we do try to ensure all our brake kits fit behind the majority of wheel types both stock and aftermarket, we make no guarantees that they will. There is a chance you will need wheel spacers to clear our brake kits. Please take the appropriate steps to ensure wheel clearance before final installation.

Custom Colour/Logo:
- Custom Colour and Logo work is carried out by Brake Caliper Refurbs. When selecting this option the calipers can be delayed by 1-4 weeks depending on existing workload.
Drilled Discs:
Drilled discs are intended for light use, if crack form from drilled holes they have been used too hard and this is not something that is covered under warranty. If outright performance is required we strongly recommend grooved or J hooked.
